On 25th July, Government announced a conditional recommendation for 2 Unitary Councils for Cheshire.

East (Chester, Ellesmere Port & Neston, Vale Royal)
West (Congleton, Crewe & Nantwich, Knutsford, Macclesfield & Wilmslow)

The decision has shocked many who were convinced the proposal for a two-tier system would be the favourite.
